We work on developing regional innovation ecosystems that truly work. This means: aligning smart specialisation policies with the right innovation and talent capacity; developing public-private partnerships to bridge the gap between market demand and regional strengths; diffusion deep tech solutions to support environmental and social impacts. In DEEPBIOTECH, we will work with startups and entrepreneurs to support their market launch or even scaleup.

Deep Tech Balkans (DTB) is a non-profit initiative through which we aim to support startups and R&D performers from Balkans and Eastern Europe educate on and apply deep tech solutions for their needs. We curate and tailor international deep tech solutions for the needs of Balkans and Eastern Europe. DTB provides three types of services: free training and certification on deep tech solutions; facilitation of access to laboratories and R&D platforms for testing deep tech solutions; maintaining and growing a community of deep tech stakeholders to facilitate networking and growth. We believe in the bright talent and capacity of people in the Balkans and the Eastern Europe and we aim contribute to the regional capacity building around deep tech deployment.

Smart Agro Hub is a Greek competence center focused on digital transformation and sustainability in the agrifood sector.
With a strong foundation in smart farming technologies, algorithmic modelling, and sustainability certification, Smart Agro Hub brings extensive experience in developing and scaling digital solutions for agriculture. It leads awareness campaigns and stakeholder engagement in EU-funded projects, promoting green innovation and digital education in the agro-biotech ecosystem.
Smart Agro Hub supports the development of digital learning content and contributes to the deep tech immersion platform by embedding agro-biotech applications. It plays a key role in regional stakeholder outreach, pilot testing, and the co-organization of hackathons and open days to maximize impact within the bioeconomy sector.

With strong expertise in knowledge and technology transfer, sustainability, and the commercialization of life science innovations, the university actively engages in EU-funded projects to bridge academia and industry.
In the DEEPBIOTECH project, Yaşar University contributes through its Engineering and Agricultural Sciences and Technologies Faculties, the Knowledge & Technology Transfer Office, and the Open & Distance Learning Centre. It leads the HEINNOVATE pillar implementation and supports educational content development. The university organizes a hackathon and an Open Day, focusing on life science innovation commercialization and sustainability. Additionally, it plays a key role in training and certifying students, researchers, and staff while engaging investors and local stakeholders in project activities.
